At Cianopi:
I’m still working on a new layout. I’m trying out a design that I’ve never really done before… so we’ll see how it ends up. I’m also almost done with my portfolio/services site. Aaaaand advertising will be up when the new layout is up. + Many more contests and challenges for you guys to take part in.

Oh yes, my birthday’s on the 27th! I think this year my best friend, whose birthday is 3 days after mine, and I are just gonna chill instead of having a big party or anything like that. Nothing too fancy. BESIDES, I’ll have a job and money by then so I won’t need people to shower me with gifts, I’ll be able to get them myself. XD Which can never go wrong because I know exactly what I want! Works for everyone, imo.

Speaking of gifts, here’s what I’ve “gotten myself” so far for Christmas:

• New Moon Paperback Novel. I’ll read it, I promise. …Alright, probably not because I just saw the movie. xD Thing is, I didn’t think I was going to see the movie, but then I did, and blargh.
• Nikon Coolpix S203 Digital Camera o from Target. Okay okay, my cousin bought it for me. lol Thanks cuz! *v*
• American Eagle Marley Flat Boots o from Payless. Thanks, mom! ♥
• JOB AT STARBUCKS?? I still have yet another interview to go through this Friday. Hopefully I’ll ace it and get the job! Wish me luck! :3

This past weekend was the most exhausting few days of my life. I ate sooooo much on Thanksgiving. And it was all soooo good. My family has that nice Southern Cooking every year, ’cause my Grandma’s a MASTER (mistress?) at cooking! Plus, I got all my Christmas and Birthday shopping done. And this was the first year I went shopping on Black Friday.

When people said that Black Friday was chaotic, they meant it was chaotic. First of all, I had only slept for like 4 hours before we went out at 5:30am to the stores. Before we (my mom, cousin, and I) left, my grandfather walked in the front door of the house (we didn’t even know he went out) ranting about how the line at WalMart was wrapped around the building and that he didn’t even bother going in. That was his way of telling us not to bother ourselves. So, we listened to the guy and went to Target.

We’re finding everything we want, all is well until this weird fellow (and this guy was weird. I’m not being mean, I’m just stating a fact) came over to my cousin and I. We had been reading a catalog (which the store was out of at this point) and we were looking for a particular sale that was advertised in it.

This fellow came over and asked if he could see the catalog. My cousin hesitated because, well, he was weird. But she gave it to him anyway. We instantly regretted being kind, helpful citizens when, not even a second after he touch the paper, a SPEW of snot flies out of his face and all over his arms and all over the catalog. He then begins frantically flipping the pages of the catalog so as to smear off the gunk from his hands all over the pages of it.

My cousin and I looked at each other. My mom and I look at each other. My mom and my cousin look at each other. This guy clearly wanted to keep the catalog, and we all knew it.

But unsure of how to address the awkward and extremely disgusting situation, we kind of just… took the catalog back…

You see, we didn’t want to give the bastard the benefit of the doubt. We knew he did it on purpose, but he wasn’t going to succeed with us. We took it back, not because we wanted his snots, but because apparently there is no place pride won’t prevail.

In other words, we didn’t want to seem like we had just gotten played/owned/served/fried by a weirdo. XD He ended up pulling the same stunt on another nearby lady anyway, and succeeded in being able to keep her catalog. Perhaps she was a bit smarter than us to swallow her pride and give it over to him. We were all sick the next day. :ugh: Oh, the traumas of holiday shopping.

I wish I had time to write a full entry, but I’ve got so much to do!! I just came back from visiting my family out of state over the weekend, I have a TON of homework due by Wed & Thu (yes, I’m back in class again), and I have a Zumba class later today! So, I don’t have enough time to finish this entry, return comments, etc. T.T For a rundown of what I would like to talk about soon, click here. In the meantime how about some music?

I hate apologizing for (finally) having a life (lol), but sorry for not responding to comments guys. No worries, I will be returning comments later today. And don’t think I’m ignoring any of you, I’ve responded to a few already. I’ve just somehow been ridiculously busy/preoccupied with things. Regardless, I’ve deemed today Return Comment Day at Cianopi! XD

Anyone else having a hard time getting a job these days? (lol duh) XD The thing is, I’ve been handing in job applications left and right and still haven’t been getting any calls! It’s so frustrating.. Speaking of which, my friend and I applied at a restaurant called Unos. The day we picked up the applications, there was a very nice girl who worked there. She gave us her name as a reference, so we thought for sure we’d get the job.

However, on the day we gave the finished applications back to the restaurant, it had just been opening. So it’s understandable that the employees were a bit busy trying to set up for the day. We walked in and told them that we had applications to hand in, and one of the workers (they were all women) said, “Okay, I’ll get the manager.” But a minute later, another girl told us to give her the applications.

At first we thought she was the manager and that she might interview us right there or something. But then she and the other workers just went about their business getting things ready for the day. My friend and I stood there for a good few minutes not knowing whether to leave or not. Then the girl who took the applications looked at us and said, “We’ll call.” and gave us a gesture to leave. We were just like “Oh… okay…” Once we left we we both looked at each other and said “What a bitch…” lol

Yes, so that’s just one of the many experiences I’ve had trying to get a job. I must say this recession is utterly ridiculous. >.<

The aforementioned friend and I plan to go to Makinig II this weekend. It’s a show that features Filipino-American and Asian-American singers, songwriters, dancers, and the works. Not among the listed on the above page is Leejay Beats, who I really wanted to see! Those dudes are awesome, and they were in the last show but my friend and I couldn’t make it!! T.T D: D= We plan to go this time though, for sure.

I finally bought my .org domain, so I’m slowly switching things over there. You can look at it now to let me know what’s out of place. (Note: it should look exactly like this site, minus this entry. XD) I also finally bought a laptop cooler! I’m so glad I don’t have to stop working on projects anymore just to let my laptop cool down so that it doesn’t crash. ^^

I have a new twitter! @Lianopi. I’ve also been trying to tweet more, ya know, to get into the loop just to see what it’s like and then form a better opinion about it.

As promised, I’m putting up a couple pics of my new sunglasses (now broken T.T talk about cheap), and the bag I got for like 5 bucks (if I recall correctly).

So much has happened this week!! My mom tricked me into signing up for classes at Strayer Univ. She originialy said that she was signing up for a class and that she just wanted me (and my younger siblings) to tag along. Well, once she was done signing papers, the lady at the desk said, “Okay, now for your daughter.”

At first I was like ” o.O No…?” But then they ganged up on me and pressured me into it! (Haha, not in such a dramatic way, but the ganging up DID occur.) I basically gave in, and for the sake of not looking worse than I already did in front of my siblings, I signed up for classes. Now I’m taking Intro to Business and Intro to IT this July.

This is the second time my mom has tricked me into doing something like this. XD I should have known! She once said that she was going to apply for some job somewhere (can’t remember), and I ended up doing the application for myself! Amazing.

Speaking of jobs, I was recently offered a job at a storage place that provides free, pre-furnished housing– so I can have a job AND my own place! HELL YESSS!! Thank you life for… giving me a life!

In other news, I entered an SOTM contest for July over at SweetRawr, so get ready to start voting for me! *v* ♥

Personally I’m still in denial about MJ, but two very important Icons passed this week. Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. I can’t even fathom such huge icons disappearing in one single day. Both of them meant so much to so many people. I wish the best to their families, and give my condolences. We will miss them both.
