Convert .WPL to .ZPL
Need to convert your Windows Media Player playlist to a Zune playlist? Easy. Simply change the .wpl extension to .zpl, and your Zune program will do the rest.
Don’t believe it’s that simple? Try it yourself! =D
Side Note #1:
If you still wish to edit your playlists using Windows Media Player (I personally find it easier to do so in WMP than in the Zune program myself), then I suggest making copies of your .wpl playlists before converting them. Again, the Zune program should automatically updates the playlists. (If it doesn’t, then you would just use the copy-paste-convert method again.)
Side Note #2:
If you do not know how to change a file extension in Windows, follow these steps.
- Open up a folder on your hard drive and go to Tools > Folder Options.
- In the View tab, find “Hide extensions for known file types”, and make sure that the box is unchecked. Click “Apply” and hit OK.
- Now, go to the folder that contains your WMP playlists (if you aren’t already there). Highlight (select), then right click and copy the ones you want to convert, and paste them into your Zune playlist folder.
- Right click any playlist file, go to “Rename“, and change .wpl to .zpl.
